Specialist Assessments

Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA) https://ahanetwork.se/

is a standardised assessment of the hand that is completed by the therapist and to enable the therapist to review the session. This will be booked with you by the therapist and a video consent will need to be signed. This assessment is for children that have a cerebral palsy diagnosis or OBBP. The assessment is marked by the therapist and evaluates the effectiveness of the affected upper limb. The results are used to support clinical decision- making and set individual goals in collaboration with the Child and Young person.

Both Hand Assessment (BOHA) https://ahanetwork.se/assessments/boha/

is a standardised assessment that is used to assess the ability of a child with unilateral cerebral palsy and assess how your child uses his hands. The assessment is videoed and marked.  A treatment block will be considered to support in achieving identified goals.

Consultant clinic

This is a joint clinic held through out the year with a hand and orthopaedic consultant to discuss options of surgery, Botulinum toxin injection (Botox) and management of the upper limb with the multi-disciplinary team.  The assessing therapist will discuss with you if this may be beneficial for your child, and book you into the clinic.
